TapouT Energy

TapouT, surely you have heard of them by now.  You cannot walk through any crowded place right now without seeing someone wearing a TapouT shirt or other TapouT apparel.  Well the same brand associated with MMA is now breaking into the energy drink world.  Right now they have 3 flavors out with another one in the works.  Let's see how TapouT does in the energy drink realm.

The Look:  As I mentioned earlier there are 3 flavors of TapouT currently available.  All the can designs are the same except the color differs slightly depending on the flavor.  The first thing I noticed was the TapouT brand name in the middle of the can in a really nice black and white font.  The logo looks great and I love the way they put the word energy inside the last T in TapouT.  The black background on the top of the can as well as the background on the bottom half of the can (color varies) has worlds such as: Focus, Arrogant, Believe, etc in a very light font that blends well with the can.  Around the top of the can you will see the flavor in both French and English with a white border around it.   Flipping it around there is a passage about the can as well as an ingredient list (once again in both French and English).  The can has a very nice and aggressive look to it and they even managed to include the caffeine content.

Taste:  TapouT Energy went with a sugar free formula for all 3 varieties, which makes sense considering the target market.  From my experience sugar free drinks can be a great success or they can bomb horribly depending on how much work is put into them.  I am very happy to say that TapouT energy is easily one of the best sugar free energy drinks I have tasted.  Actually scratch that....TapouT energy is easily one of the best tasting energy drinks I have tasted despite having sugar or not.
Peach Mango:  This is easily my favorite of the 3.  They did a great job with the flavor on here and it actually taste like peach and mangoes.  If it was not printed on the can, I would never even guessed this is sugar free.  I found myself wishing the can was bigger because it seemed to be gone way to quickly.
(10 out of 10) You read that right, it is that good
Cherry Citrus:   The flavor here is best described as a cherry limeade type of flavor.  Once again there is no evidence of it being sugar free.  The carbonation is excellent and the flavoring is top notch.

Cranberry Orange:  This was the flavor I was the least excited about initially.  That quickly changed when I took my first drink.  The kept a great balance of the two flavors without letting either overpower the other. If you like orange or cranberry then you will love the fusion of the two.

Does It Work:  These hit me a bit harder than I expected.  Part of the reason may be because I drank them so quickly because they tasted so damn good....
So let's see what the put inside each can: 0 Calories, 200 mg of caffeine, 2000 mg of taurine, ginseng root, inositol, several B vitamins, and a few other quality ingredients with 0 grams of sugar.  I slammed down the can in about 10 or 15 minutes and got a great kick  about 10 minutes later.  The whole experience lasted almost 4 hours and ended with absolutely no crash.

Overall Thoughts:  If I had to sum up how I felt about TapouT Energy in only 2 words it would be: Damn Impressed.  Just how impressed you may ask?  Well right now TapouT Energy is one of my early 2011 nominations for best sugar free energy drink and for best tasting energy drink.  I have got word this will start popping up in the U.S. very soon and when it does I highly suggest that you buy some when you spot it.  Awesome packaging, amazing flavors, and a great owe it to yourself to try TapouT Energy.

I love all three flavors TapouT Energy has released as well. I am also looking forward to their new flavor that is in the works. If it is as good as their current three, I'll be hooked on it. My personal favorite is the Cherry Citrus, but you're right about the Peach Mango. That one is pretty excellent.

When I bought It, I didn't know it was sugar free. Mango Peach is the bomb... Orange Cranberry reminds me of a orange freezy... Surprisingly a great product
